Child Has Right To Use Mother’s Surname, Father Does Not Own Daughter – Delhi HC

There was a Delhi High Court on Friday that every child has the right to use his/her mother’s surname and that the father does now own his daughter in order to dictate her to use only his surname.

The oral observation came from Justice Rekha Palli who was hearing a father’s plea seeking directions to concerned authorities to reflect his name as his minor daughter’s surname in place of the child’s mother’s name

No one will object who’s surname is used. If Father surname is not allowed then why Mother name is allowed

THAT SHOWS THE BIAS

Why law is taking one side when Constitution of India says Law should not be biased on Gender then these Judges are above Constitution? Who gave such authority to dictate.

IT SHOULD BE UPTO THE CHILD WHEN GROWNUP WHO’S SURNAME TO USE.

If child want to use ONLY mother surname, He/She should not contest/challenge/demand/beg/fight with other siblings for Fathers property too. period
